I recently had the chance to experience the second stage of life female initiation ritual. No it wasn’t beating drums or buying a new hot red corvette, It was having “the girls” squished between two cold, unforgiving metal plates while howling at the moon. O.k. so I didn’t actually howl at the moon (like a good solid ritual) because there were just flourescent lights but I really wanted to howl. In fact I really wanted to howl, “WHY the ** did you just turn that dial even tighter? Have some pity woman! ooooowwwwoooo”).
Oh so fun. And then today, I had the lovely experience of having a cold and slippery little ultrasound to contemplate what the ” bump that we can feel but not see but have decided to ignore for another few months just so you can really experience the full meaning of anxiety is.” I’m rambling again, I know. I do this. Now, I get to try really hard to follow my own squirrely post from Padre Pio “Pray, hope and don’t worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer.” Ha ha ha haaaaaaa see how things go around then come around again? pshish -thanks universe! Seriously though, I count my blessings because that news today was good. And nothing like going through this female initiation ritual to really make one reevaluate life. I now have a whole new list of ways to better live it:
New “to do” life list:
- Be nicer to my husband
- Eat more bananas
O.k. that’s about as far as I got before I came home and turned into a scary horror story creature with its head spinning around shouting random “thoughts” at her poor wide-eyed husband. Maybe I was speaking in tounges you ask? Oh how nice of you to think so but no, obviously, I took out my pent-up stress (and anger) on him and broke my very first rule. Man I am so… human!
The light that squeaked through the fog today came just in time to stop my head from spinning. 1catholicsalmon nominated me for The Reader Appreciation Award!
